Setting Up FTP

For the FTP program (this is required to upload your text files to the web server where the application resides) use FileZilla Client, you can download it from: https://filezilla-project.org

Once you have downloaded and installed the program you will need to set up FileZilla so that it connects to the web server. Follow this procedure to add a connection to the web server.

Start FileZilla and click on the “Open the site manager” button in the top left hand corner of the application.

Click the new “Site button” and enter the follow in the respective fields:

Host: congmaps.org
Port: 21
Protocol: FTP – File Transfer Protocol
Encryption: Use explicit FTP over TLS if available
Login Type: Normal
User: [supplied by us]
Password: [supplied by us]

Click on the connect button.

If you have set the program up successfully you should see something similar to the accompanying screenshot.

You will notice that the middle section of the program is divided into two panes. The left hand pane is your local PC and the right hand pane is the required folder on the server that your json text files have to be uploaded to. It simply is a matter of locating the json file you want to upload in the left hand pane and dragging and dropping it into the right hand pane to upload it.
